comprehensive list of ASCE Institute and Committee on Technical Advancement
(CTA) Student Competitions. These competitions provide invaluable opportunities
for students to apply their knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and connect
with professionals in the civil engineering community.

Treatment Competition

treatment processes to solve specific water quality issues. The competition

Forensic Division
This
competition takes the format of "Three Minute Thesis" which was
originally developed by the University of Queensland for graduate students.
Students have three minutes to present one PowerPoint slide on a case study of
a civil infrastructure or a building failure. The competition encourages
participants’ communication skills through effectively presenting a failure
case study in just three minutes.

Institute Student Symposium Competitions

This competition requires
students to develop a comprehensive project management plan for a
construction project. Students are judged on their ability to plan,
schedule, and manage project resources effectively.

    Competition:

    competition challenges students to develop a plan for the construction of
    large-scale infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and tunnels. It
    emphasizes the importance of safety, cost control, and efficiency.
